North-eastern region

Svečina and Ritoznoj

Our exploration of the eastern part of Slovenia begins with a welcome at the starting point in Ljubljana, where the first surprise starts with awakening your taste buds. With a glass of sparkling wine, we will kick off the journey to our largest wine-growing district.

The journey from the capital in the northeast direction leads us through the Savinja Valley, which has been marked by hop growing since 1876. Three-quarters of Slovenian hops are produced here, most of which are used in beer production. However, since our main focus is wine, we will just wave at the hop fields and continue our journey towards the Austrian border. Among the vineyards, we will encounter a view of the infamous heart-shaped road. From this lovely spot, we head to a unique wine cellar where art and wine intertwine. This is followed by tasting of typical Styrian varieties. Our adventure takes us towards Ritoznoj, which has been one of the most important wine-growing areas of Styria for centuries, known for its delicate aromatic white wine. We will visit an authentic homestead with a wine cellar, where we will enjoy lunch accompanied by top-notch wine.

Filled with new unforgettable experiences, beautiful views, new flavors, and stories, we return to Ljubljana, where perhaps another pleasant surprise awaits you.
